The Department of Health continues to identify and assess potential human health hazards related to the phenomenon of rapid and recurring corrosion of metals inside homes.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has received about 2,276 reports from residents in 32 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico who believe their health symptoms or the corrosion of certain metal components in their homes are related to the presence of defective drywall.
