From 1981 to 1988, he worked in the Florida House as a legislative analyst and staff director for the Committee on Retirement, Personnel and Collective Bargaining. He is a former staff writer for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel/Orlando Sentinel Tallahassee Bureau, New York Times Regional Newspapers, as well as a reporter for The Gainesville Sun and Ocala Star-Banner. Prior to coming to Florida in 1990, he was an executive correspondent in the State of Illinois Governor’s Office, and he worked for several news organizations in Illinois. Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communication from Illinois State University.

| David is a legislative analyst in the House Democratic Office where he specializes in education and environmental policy. He has worked for the Caucus since 2005. Previously, he was a journalist for 18 years, 12 of which were spent covering the Legislature and state politics for the Orlando Sentinel, Tampa Tribune, Bradenton Herald and other newspapers. After leaving journalism in 2001, he worked in the media relations department at Florida State University before joining the Caucus staff.

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Central Florida in 2007. She previously worked in the Democratic Office as a legislative intern and has also held internships with the Florida Senate and in the Orlando office of U.S. Senator Bill Nelson.

He is a former director of communications for the Florida Center for Fiscal & Economic Policy as well as the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council. He has been a grants consultant and he served as a public information officer for the Department of Children and Families in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. He founded the public relations and marketing firm, Rocky Top Marketing, in Tennessee. He has been a freelance writer, as well as a reporter for several newspapers. Ruben received his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Florida. Ruben is this web site's Webmaster.

Previously, she worked for the Florida Department of Children & Families in its budget services and personnel offices. She also was employed by the Florida Black Business Investment Board. She is the first African-American female elected official in Jackson County, where she served as city commissioner in Malone. She is the second vice chair of the Florida Democratic Party.

As an undergraduate at FSU, she studied in San Juan, Costa Rica and Barcelona, Spain. Before joining the Democratic Office, she worked for the Legislature in Florida’s Historic Capitol.
